Running on 'angel power'

Catherine has been feeling tired today and is still eating huge amounts. She also told me she was feeling 'fed up' but she is not sure why. Partly this is tiredness but it is also the side effects of the steroids. She is also having tummyaches and headaches, but brightened up today when some of her friends came round to see her. Mark describes Catherine as running on 'angel power' at the moment. She is still determinedly getting on with as much as she can and the side effects remain minimal.

Pickfords delivered all our boxes today and we were so grateful when some friends offered to help us unpack. It was such a relief not having to do it all, and even though we didn't get to finish all of the boxes, most of the rooms are now livable. The support we have received, both practically and through prayer, has been just amazing. We feel very loved.

Thankyou for keeping us in your prayers, and thankyou also to everyone who has contributed to the Pray For Catherine facebook group. We had no idea that Jonathan planned to start this group for us on facebook, but it has been a real source of strength for us as we have faced this as a family. We know your prayers are helping.

Dawn, I know exactly where you are coming from. Sometimes it feels as if this is not quite real. Can this really be happening to us???It's as if you'll wake up one morning and everything will be back to normal.
Jeremiah 2 tells the story of God saying to him, 'Go buy a field'-when the enemy was just about to snatch their land away. It didn't make sense but Jerry obeyed God to the letter. The enemy came and took possession of the land, and Jerry said to God, 'You knew this was going to happen, yet you told me to buy a field. WHY?'
God said to Jerry,'Is anything too HARD for ME?'
Then God explained to Jerry that although HE had allowed calamity to come upon the people, one day the calamity would be turned to GREAT BLESSING! Jerry would get his field back, and he would have a much deeper trust in what God was able to do.

This is Catherine's story: Expect Miracles

This is Catherine's blog. Catherine is now six years old and is in remission from leukaemia (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia - ALL). Leukaemia is a rare yet treatable form of cancer that affects the bone marrow and blood. This blog began at the start of her treatment in August 2008. The treatment lasted until October 2010. She went into remission remarkably early and the treatment was focussed on making sure the disease never returned. Over 15000 people have prayed for Catherine during the past three years for which her parents are deeply grateful. So many people love Catherine that it was hard to update everyone, so her parents began this blog to keep everyone updated. Catherine is the daughter of two Salvation Army Officers in the UK. This blog is a place to be updated, to send wishes to the parents and basically for everyone who knows Catherine (or doesn't) to be able to find out more about her progress. Feel free to post comments, concerns and questions. All prayers for Catherine at this time continue to be warmly received by her parents and Catherine's extended family. Catherine is now receiving blood tests and will be monitored regularly until she is ten-year-old when she will be give the official 'all clear'. Her parents especially welcome readers who are experiencing a child dealing with any form of cancer. Their prayer is that this blog will help them in their journeys.
