We arrived at Jimmy's today and all is going to plan for the procedure tomorrow. On arrival, her pink teddy bear was given a bandage and some little tubes to show Catherine what was going to happen. She also got a little syringe so she could put medicine in teddy's arm. She enjoyed playing at this and has decided that she wants to be a doctor and not a nurse.
Generally, Catherine is doing well and the staff have been absolutely fantastic with her. She was a bit scared today when they X-rayed her skull - she has a bump on her head that hasn't healed for a number of weeks - but I think that the foam pillow was pressing on her neck so it was also uncomfortable. Otherwise she is as tough as ever and is probably doing much better than her parents. The staff have given her a sticker chart and she gets a sticker for everything she does well. She also gets a present every time she has an X-ray, so she now has a brand new set of crayons and a pencil with a doll on top.
If people would like a prayer pointer for tomorrow, we are asking that you pray that the procedures go well without any side effects and also that they do not find any bad cells in her spinal fluid.
Catherine got a ride with her mummy today to the X-ray theatre on a wheelchair pushed by daddy. The wheelchair was made for children, so I had to lift my legs all the way. We must have looked bizarre but Catherine enjoyed it. We did have a bit of a laugh at this point and are grateful for small mercies...

This is Catherine's blog. Catherine is now six years old and is in remission from leukaemia (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia - ALL). Leukaemia is a rare yet treatable form of cancer that affects the bone marrow and blood. This blog began at the start of her treatment in August 2008. The treatment lasted until October 2010. She went into remission remarkably early and the treatment was focussed on making sure the disease never returned. Over 15000 people have prayed for Catherine during the past three years for which her parents are deeply grateful. So many people love Catherine that it was hard to update everyone, so her parents began this blog to keep everyone updated. Catherine is the daughter of two Salvation Army Officers in the UK. This blog is a place to be updated, to send wishes to the parents and basically for everyone who knows Catherine (or doesn't) to be able to find out more about her progress. Feel free to post comments, concerns and questions. All prayers for Catherine at this time continue to be warmly received by her parents and Catherine's extended family. Catherine is now receiving blood tests and will be monitored regularly until she is ten-year-old when she will be give the official 'all clear'. Her parents especially welcome readers who are experiencing a child dealing with any form of cancer. Their prayer is that this blog will help them in their journeys.

We have not met but news of Catherine's situation reached us care of 'nursery Nikki'. We cannot possibly imagine what you are going through but please be assured of our prayers for Catherine and yourselves in these days. We do indeed pray that tomorrow's procedure goes well. We operate a book of intercession at Failsworth and I want to assure you that we will be mobilising our intercessors to continue to uphold you.

Hi Mark. Hi Dawn... and hi Catherine... Thank you so much for the update. We are certainly praying for you here in Guernsey. I went do a Christian Conference Centre to lead prayers this morning and they've added you all to their book of intercession. Catherine was prayed for this morning and will be remembered each evening in the centre during evening intercession.
Catherine will also be the focus of our prayer time on Sunday morning. We will be thinking of you all tomorrow and praying that everything goes well and the results are nothing less than miraculous.

We are sorry to hear that Catherine is so poorly - you are constantly in our thoughts and prayers at the moment. We hope and pray that the procedure goes well tomorrow, that Catherine is not too uncomfortable and that the news will be positive. We have no doubt that you are in good hands at Jimmy's and that Catherine will receive the best possible care. We will also be praying for the medical staff who are/will be caring for Catherine in the days ahead.
