Catherine came into my room this morning and pointed to a picture. She asked me who was in the picture and I replied that the picture was of Jesus.
She pointed to the ceiling. 'Jesus is up there, mummy', she said.
'Is he?', I asked, smiling.
'Yes, he is', she replied, also smiling.
'Do you talk to Jesus?'.
'Yes, I do', Catherine replied.
And does Jesus speak to you?
'Yes'.
'What does he say?'.
'Love'
'He says love to you?'.
'Yes', she replied, still smiling. Then she asked me for her breakfast.
This is Catherine's story: Expect Miracles
This is Catherine's blog. Catherine is now six years old and is in remission from leukaemia (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia - ALL). Leukaemia is a rare yet treatable form of cancer that affects the bone marrow and blood. This blog began at the start of her treatment in August 2008. The treatment lasted until October 2010. She went into remission remarkably early and the treatment was focussed on making sure the disease never returned. Over 15000 people have prayed for Catherine during the past three years for which her parents are deeply grateful. So many people love Catherine that it was hard to update everyone, so her parents began this blog to keep everyone updated. Catherine is the daughter of two Salvation Army Officers in the UK. This blog is a place to be updated, to send wishes to the parents and basically for everyone who knows Catherine (or doesn't) to be able to find out more about her progress. Feel free to post comments, concerns and questions. All prayers for Catherine at this time continue to be warmly received by her parents and Catherine's extended family. Catherine is now receiving blood tests and will be monitored regularly until she is ten-year-old when she will be give the official 'all clear'. Her parents especially welcome readers who are experiencing a child dealing with any form of cancer. Their prayer is that this blog will help them in their journeys.

I love the way children have this ability to make really profound comments . . . and then just switch to talking about something so down to earth as breakfast!!
Dear Mark and Dawn, Just letting you know that I am praying for Catherine to come through with complete healing and for you all to be strengthened.
I am so excited that Catherine is experiencing the love of Jesus at first hand. To have that encounter with Him and to know that He is there with her at such a young age is so precious. He has said "I will never leave you or forsake you".
Here are a couple of promises that you can personalise and speak out loud.
"For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and floods on the dry ground I will pour out my Spirit on your descendants (Catherine), and My blessing on your offspring(Catherine). They (Catherine) will spring up among the grass like willows by the watercourses." Isaiah 44:3-4.
"He gives power to the weak(Catherine), and to those who have no might (Catherine) He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary and the young men shall utterly fall but those that wait upon the Lord (you and Catherine) shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:29-31.
